BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is a synthetic 15-amino acid peptide derived from a naturally occurring protein found in gastric juice. It is among the most extensively studied repair peptides, with research spanning gut barrier integrity, musculoskeletal tissue healing, angiogenesis, and neuroprotection across numerous animal models (Sikiric et al., 2018).

BPC-157 is a 15-amino-acid peptide derived from a protective sequence found in human gastric juice (the name stands for Body Protection Compound). Its most documented mechanism in the research literature is angiogenic: it upregulates VEGFR2 and new capillary formation.
In animal models with a healing endpoint (tendon, ligament, gastric and bone), studies consistently report accelerated repair, and secondary research points to interaction with the nitric oxide system and growth-hormone-receptor expression on fibroblasts. Human data remain limited, and it is supplied for laboratory research use only.
